I think this is the intended functionality, just putting it out there to help others transition to version 2.
For this new Next-Gen Eye Deepdive, the vanilla color / MaterialEditor Color2 value no longer applies (only alpha works), you have to use subsurface hue / brightness settings to adjust the color. Or you can uncheck the IRISCOLORTEX_ON box which basically turns Next-Gen Eye Deepdive into Next-Gen Eye Vanilla.

Yes Color2 is the Iris color. Since Deepdive intended to be multicolored there is no need in Color2 function, But you're right. Can use Hue control to change color.
